On October 6, the Orientation Day for first-year PhD students of the International Doctoral School at the Medical University of Lodz was held. The event was opened by Vice-Rector for Science, Prof. Agnieszka Piastowska-Ciesielska, PhD, DSc, and Director of the International Doctoral School, Prof. Tomasz Boczek, PhD, DSc.
The Orientation Day provided an opportunity to present the most important information, including the organization of doctoral training, scientific activities, available forms of support, and opportunities for professional and academic development.
Participants had the opportunity to learn more about the activities of the Department of National and International Projects, including opportunities to participate in research projects and obtain support for their scientific activities. They also learned more about the work of the Doctoral Student Council, with details presented by its Chair, Wojciech Timler, MD
The PhD students also received essential information materials, doctoral student ID cards, and welcome packages. There was also plenty of time for informal conversations, sharing first experiences, and making new connections.
Another important part of the event was a tour of the laboratories at BRaIN, giving the PhD students an opportunity to explore the University’s research facilities and learn more about the scientific infrastructure available to them. We would like to warmly congratulate all our new PhD students on beginning their doctoral education at the International Doctoral School!
We wish you many inspiring ideas, fulfilment and satisfaction in your scientific work, the courage to take on new challenges, research success, and many valuable encounters and collaborations.
May this new chapter mark the beginning of a rewarding and successful scientific journey!
Welcome on board!
