From July 9 to 12, 2024, the Summer School for Doctoral Students titled “How to Influence Scientific Outcomes with Innovations” was held at the Clinical and Didactic Center of the Medical University of Łódź. This program, organized as part of the STER NAWA project, aimed to enhance the knowledge of doctoral students in the field of modern technologies and innovations in science. The classes were conducted by distinguished specialists, including Prof. Joanna Klubo-Gwiezdzinska from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, hosted by Prof. Małgorzata Karbownik-Lewińska, and Prof. Arkadiusz Sitek from Harvard Medical School, invited to the Department of Nuclear Medicine by Prof. Zbigniew Adamczewski, as well as the academic staff of the Medical University of Łódź and the University of Łódź.
Prof. Klubo-Gwiezdzinska focused on integrating innovative technologies with scientific research, discussing new diagnostic and therapeutic methods in thyroid cancer. Meanwhile, Prof. Sitek led workshops on the application of artificial intelligence and data analysis in healthcare, concentrating on clinical decision support systems and diagnostic imaging.
Additionally, participants had the opportunity to take part in workshops and discussion sessions, allowing for direct exchange of experiences and the establishment of valuable professional contacts. The Summer School was not only an opportunity for learning but also for building a network of cooperation, which is crucial for scientific career development.
