Last month, our doctoral students, upon special invitation from Dr. Maria Długołęcka-Graham, had the opportunity to participate in the 2023 Summer School in Clinical Education (ESSCE), an event organized by the respectable University of Edinburgh. ESSCE is an annual gathering that highlights the achievements of doctoral students and is committed to fostering an interdisciplinary approach.
The ESSCE experience provided an invaluable opportunity for Filip Karuga and Bartosz Szmyd to collaborate with educators and healthcare professionals from diverse fields. This interdisciplinary synergy was not only meant to enrich knowledge but also expand horizons.
Furthermore, the students had the great privilege and honor of visiting the Hall of Tradition of the Polish Medical University in Edinburgh, where they were guided by Dr. Maria Długołęcka-Graham. The role of this place in Polish education and medicine is undoubtedly a part of Polish history that every doctor and scientist should discover.
In conclusion, ESSCE 2023 at the University of Edinburgh was a remarkable and transformative experience that has left an indelible mark on our doctoral students’ academic and professional journey.
It was a unique chance for our doctoral students to explore new perspectives, challenge existing notions, and delve deep into the realm of clinical education.
On behalf of our PhD students, we would like to thank Dr. Maria Długołęcka-Graham, Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Hab. n.med. Lucyna Woźniak and Director of the International Doctoral School, Prof. Dr. Hab. n.med. Anna Woźniacka, for the opportunity to participate in such a prestigious project.
