We are very proud to announce that on October 29, 2025, the Science Evaluation Commission (KEN) issued Resolution No. 34/2025, in which it gave a positive assessment of the quality of education at the International Doctoral School of the Medical University of Lodz. This decision confirms that our Doctoral School meets all the criteria defined for Level 8 of the Polish Qualifications Framework, providing clear confirmation of the highest standards in training future research staff.
This evaluation was of historic importance, as it was the first assessment of the quality of education in doctoral schools conducted since the introduction of the Law on Higher Education and Science in 2018.
Based on the self-evaluation report prepared by the International Doctoral School and the on-site visit held on June 10, 2025, the Evaluation Team of KEN highly praised both the curriculum and the organization and quality of support provided to doctoral students.
It was emphasized that the educational process is conducted by qualified academic staff, and that the University ensures doctoral students have broad access to research and scientific infrastructure. The Commission also highlighted the commitment of the School’s Director and administrative team, whose professionalism and collaboration contribute to the dynamic development and excellent functioning of the School.
The report noted the atmosphere of partnership, openness to dialogue with doctoral students, and transparent procedures that support the high quality of the educational process.
The recommendations included in the report are constructive suggestions aimed at the School’s further improvement.
In conclusion, the Evaluation Team expressed a clearly positive opinion and recommended the next evaluation to be conducted only in six years’ time, which constitutes the highest possible rating in this process.
This positive result is a source of pride for the entire International Doctoral School and for the whole community of the Medical University of Lodz.
We sincerely thank everyone involved in the organization and functioning of the School – thanks to our collective effort, we are able to pursue our mission with passion, professionalism, and a spirit of scientific excellence.
