We invite PhD students to participate in a training conference organized within the framework of the Baltic University Programme (BUP).
The conference will take place in Uppsala, Sweden, on 26–28 November 2025.
This year, the annual BUP PhD Training is held in conjunction with the BUP Symposium entitled:
“Strengthening the Security and Resilience of the Baltic Sea Region – environmental, political, social, economic shocks and crises.”
This means that PhD students applying for the PhD Training will automatically participate in the Symposium and do not need to apply separately for the BUP Symposium.
Applications should be submitted via the registration form by 30 May 2025.
Participation in the training is free of charge. The Baltic University Programme covers the costs of meals and coffee breaks during the event.
Participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses.
PhD students may apply for Erasmus+ mobility grants at their home universities to cover these costs. Uppsala University offers assistance in preparing all necessary documentation required for the Erasmus+ application (such as an invitation letter, training programme, etc.).

Cancellation policy
If you don’t show up or cancel your participation with late notice, after 31 October 2025, we hold the right to charge you or your university department the cost of your participation. We only accept late cancellations due to illness, family-related matters, or force majeure, if sufficient documents can be provided (doctor’s certificate, etc.).
