On June 10–11, the Public Review Session of PhD students from the International Doctoral School of the Medical University of Łódź took place.
The session was opened by a lecture from Prof. Paolo Contu from Italy, who visited us as a Visiting Professor. His talk, titled “Salutogenic strategies for individual and community empowerment in health promotion for planetary health and wellbeing,” enriched the session with an international perspective.
During the session, young researchers presented their achievements to date in the implementation of their Individual Research Plans (IRPs). It was an interesting and inspiring event that allowed doctoral students not only to present their results, but also to exchange valuable experiences and establish professional contacts.
For the International Doctoral School – as well as for the entire University – it was an important moment, as on June 10 we hosted the Quality Assurance Committee as part of the evaluation of doctoral schools. During the visit, meetings were held with representatives of various groups (university authorities, PhD students, supervisors, lecturers, and administrative staff) to assess the organization, doctoral support, and educational conditions.
The public session turned out to be not only a platform for presentations, but also for integration – it fostered knowledge exchange, relationship building, and deep reflection on the future development of the International Doctoral School. It emphasized the vital role of young researchers in shaping future academic staff and highlighted the University’s commitment to the continuous improvement and advancement of doctoral education.
