Dear Doctoral Students,

We would like to remind you that in order to increase the security of IT systems at the Medical University of Łódź, a two-factor authentication mechanism has been introduced for users logging in with a university account from outside the university networks.

NOTE! Two-factor verification applies to accounts in the @umed.lodz.pl domain (“employee” accounts).

This mechanism applies to the following IT systems and services:

  • University email in the umed.lodz.pl domain
  • All Office 365 services (e.g., Teams, OneDrive, OneNote, Forms)
  • Virtual University
  • Intranet
  • Process Portal

Two-factor authentication is based on an application installed on the user’s mobile device (phone/tablet). Installing the application is voluntary, but necessary when accessing the above systems and services from public networks (excluding the university’s internal internet network).

To ensure the ability to log in to the above systems and services from networks other than the university network after the two-factor authentication mechanism was launched (i.e., after March 6, 2023), you must install and configure the application according to the instructions available at the following link: Microsoft Authenticator Configuration Guide.

NOTE!
It is not necessary to install the application on all devices on which you use the university IT systems. Installation on one device (e.g., a phone) is sufficient; it will be used to confirm logins. The application is not required to work within the systems after logging in.

If you have additional questions or experience problems configuring the application, please contact the IT and Telecommunications Center:
